Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur (VNIT) also known as NIT Nagpur was formerly known as Regional College of Engineering, Nagpur and Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering (VRCE). It started in 1960 and became and received the status of Institute of National Importance in 2007. It has over 12 boys hostel and 2 girls hostels. The campus is fully networked and has facilities for auditoriums, sporting facilities, a computer center, SBI branch, Canara Bank branch, cafes, coffee shops, a co-operative store and a post office.
