IIT (BHU) is a residential campus, spread across 400 acres of land, within the 1,300 acres owned by the BHU. The campus is located beside the Ganges at the southern end of the city. The institution boasts of good accommodation that overlooks lush-green gardens. There is one hostel for girls along with two extensions, and 12 hostels for boys. New accommodation is under construction. The hostels have round-the-clock Internet facility and LAN facility and few of them are Wi-Fi-enabled to keep students connected for research and communication. Each hostel has its own badminton court, volleyball court, and common rooms. The campus also has one main library, along with five departmental libraries. These libraries collectively support the research, teaching and extension programs offered by the institution.
