Vidya Vardhaka College of Engineering is located in located in the Vijaya Nagar - Gokulam area north of the city of Mysore. It is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University and offers courses on Computer Science,Information Science, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, Electronics and Communication and Environmental Engineering. Vidya Vardhaka College of Engineering is recognised by the Government of Karnataka and the AICTE. The college organizes an annual cultural event Vidyuth, in which students from the other colleges in the city participate. Since 2004, VVCE Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers student branch organizes an annual technical symposium called IMPULSE. The new group of Computer Science department called as TECSA holds two main events every year, one is Synapse and the other is Fragg Zone. Synapse includes various technical events which are focused mainly on Computer Science and Fragg Zone is a gaming event.
