Valliammai Engineering College was founded in 1999 and is approved by the AICTE. The varsity is affiliated to Anna University, Tamil Nadu and offers 3 programmes in Engineering & Technology, Management and Computer Applications. 7 Under Graduate courses and 8 Post Graduate courses are offered by VEC. The VEC Library is a fully equipped with an area of 2700 Sq.m spread over 2 storeys. It also subscribes to 315 journals and magazine periodicals including IEEE online journal, to give an exposure to our students to the latest technology. There are two separate hostels for boys and girls students accommodating about 1200 students. All the hostels have necessary infrastructure and modern kitchens. The hostels have a Wi-Fi Internet Connection, co-operative stores, T.V Hall, and a Gymnasium. The Buildings house fully furnished Laboratories, Class rooms, Drawing halls, Conference halls, Offices for HODs, Staff rooms, Seminar Halls, Department Libraries. There are also more than a dozen computer laboratories with a total number of 944 terminals. There are also many sports and games opportunities along with academics. Students are encouraged to participate and excel in sports.
