It was started in 1996. It is well connected by roads and railways to all major cities including Bhubaneswar, capital city of Odisha. Its campus has five main buildings: the Lecture Hall Complex (LHC) which houses classrooms and laboratories; the Octagon, which houses a modern Computer Centre, an Internet room, Student Activities Centre, a computerized library and cafeteria; the business school; and the Galleria with 16 lecture halls and a 250-seat auditorium. Two new buildings, Atrium and TIFAC Core are the latest addition to the campus. Additional facilities include a very large capacity boys' hostel; a girls' hostel; a swimming pool; a lawn tennis court; a basketball court; a volleyball court and an aquarium building, many fountains, eucalyptus plantations and also a cactus garden.
