Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), Allahabad, in Uttar Pradesh was established in 1961 and its foundation stone was laid by the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. The MNNIT campus is spread over 222 acres on the banks of the Ganges, and the campus offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and well-manicured lawns. Over the last few years, MNNIT has focused on improving its infrastructure and today, all the lecture halls are air-conditioned and the labs and hostels are well maintained. MNNIT is one of the few technical institutions in India that have supercomputers. This is only eclipsed by the spacious and completely digital library that makes use of the Dewey Decimal System.
