NIT Jalandhar is also referred to as the Dr B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology. Established in 1987, NIT Jalandhar spreads across 160 acres and is situated on Amritsar GT Road bypass in Jalandhar, Punjab. The institute has several buildings of different natures, connected by clean and wide roads. For usage by students, staff and faculty, a computer centre with latest hardware and software has been installed. Two popular banks with ATMs have been set up here. A central library is present for reference purposes. For travel between the campus and city, two buses have been provided by the college. All major events on campus are held in a grand seminar hall. In order to motivate students to keep themselves fit, both physically and mentally, a gymnasium is present, which also has indoor sports facilities such as badminton and TT.
